Assistant Professor of Mathematics

Wei Cui

Dr. Cui came to Cottey College as an assistant professor of Mathematics in 2016. Before that, he has taught a wide range of introductory and upper level mathematics courses. As an instructor at The University of Alabama, he has taught Precalculus Algebra, Precalculus Trigonometry, Finite Mathematics, Business Calculus and Differential Equations over the past 5 years.

Dr. Cui earned his B.S. in information and computer science from Guizhou University and his M.A. and Ph.D. in Mathematics from The University of Alabama. In 2008, he studied at Gavle University College at Sweden as an exchange student.

Dr. Cui is interested in Financial Mathematics and Actuarial Science. His current research interest lies in searching for an optimal strategy to reduce the running risk in hedging a long-term commitment with short-term futures contracts under a certain constraint on the terminal risk.
