Morial Convention Center

Location of CMS Technical Sessions

Our rooms at the convention center are 211, 212, and 213, with the exception of the CMS Awards Symposium. The plenary CMS Awards Symposium will be held on Sunday morning in La Louisiane Ballroom C, which is on the first floor of the convention center at the far north end (closest to the French Quarter and the Bourbon Orleans). The remainder of the symposia will be held Sunday afternoon through Thursday afternoon in Rooms 211 – 213, also at the northern end of the convention center but located on the second floor. This means shorter walks for us!

  • ACS Convention Shuttle (free): Complimentary shuttle service will be provided by the ACS from the Morial Convention Center to the official ACS hotels. The three closest hotels listed as ACS hotels are the Royal Sonesta at 300 Bourbon Street, the W French Quarter at 316 Chartres Street, and the Hotel Monteleone at 214 Royal Street.

The streetcar runs every 35 minutes, arriving at the convention center in 8 – 10 minutes (assuming the printed schedule is correct.). The streetcar stops frequently, with the stop closest to the Bourbon Orleans being behind Jackson Square (two blocks away), near the river. For the current streetcar schedule, go to http://www.norta.com/routes/index.php and refer to the # 2 Line (Riverfront).
  • Taxi (~$8 for two people plus $1 per extra person): A five-minute ride to the Convention Center.
  • Bus #5 Marigny-Bywater Line($1.25/one-way trip; $5/one-day pass; $12/three-day pass): The # 5 Marigny-Bywater Bus Line can be taken from near the Bourbon Orleans to the Convention Center between the hours of 7 AM and 6 PM.
