Symposia Descriptions
Methods for Studying Optical and Electrochemical Properties of In Situ Thin Films
The proposed symposium will look at both instrumentation (planar waveguides, electrochemistry, XAFS, optical imaging, STEM, AFM) which allow the researcher to study thin clay films in situ and the types of information that can be obtained (transport phenomena, drying studies, structure, and redox reactions) of interest to both the nanocomposite and geo- and bio-chemical studies of clays.
