Controller

Cottey College is seeking a controller in the business office. This position directs the collection, verification, recording, and processing of financial transactions and documents as required for maintaining payroll, accounts payable, purchase orders, accounts receivable, and financial statements. Minimum requirements include: bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration with four years of progressively responsible experience in accounting, two of which were in supervisory capacity. MBA and/or CPA certification preferred. Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs

Cottey College, a private liberal arts college for women, is seeking an Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs. This is a 12-month administrative staff position that reports to and will work with the Vice President for Academic Affairs/Dean of the Faculty in the overall direction of academic matters at Cottey College, in accordance with strategic planning initiatives. An earned Master’s or Ph.D. degree in a related discipline with some administrative experience in higher education is required.

The ideal candidate for this position will have excellent writing, oral communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, as well as the ability to analyze data. Secondary Education

Cottey College, a private liberal arts college for women, is expanding its bachelor degree offerings and invites applications for a position in Secondary Education. The ideal candidate will be one who is an excellent teacher and interested in teaching core foundational teacher education courses at the undergraduate level. In addition, the ideal candidate will advise and mentor undergraduate students majoring in education; coordinate and supervise student teachers; participate in faculty governance and meaningful college service and scholarly activities; and collaborate with colleagues to conduct program/course planning and revision.

Rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Position is dependent upon the secondary education program being approved by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, expected Spring 2017.

Criminology

Cottey College, a leading private liberal arts college for women, seeks applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Criminology, starting August 2017. The successful candidate will have a graduate degree (PhD preferred but ABD considered) in criminology or sociology with a specialization in criminology and experience in teaching courses in criminology and sociology. The successful candidate will participate in the growth and development of the Criminology program and will teach an introductory criminology as well as more upper level courses and the Capstone.

Women’s Studies

Cottey College, a private liberal arts college for women, seeks a tenure-track Women, Gender, & Sexuality Studies (WGS) assistant professor, specialization in global health or postcolonial studies preferred, to begin August 2017. The successful candidate will also teach Introduction to WGS, Research Methods in WGS, WGS Capstone, and specialty courses in her/his field. The position requires a commitment to teaching excellence at the undergraduate level; teaching load is four courses per semester. Coordinator for International Education and International Student Support.

Cottey College, a leading private liberal arts college for women, seeks a full-time staff member to serve as a coordinator for international education such as study abroad and faculty exchange programs as well as provide support for international students in their transition to Cottey and the U.S. This is a twelve-month position, to begin July 1, 2017, reporting to the vice president for academic affairs and working in collaboration with the faculty; Student Life staff; career and transfer planning coordinator; and student disability services, academic advising, and student success coordinator. The successful candidate will hold, at minimum, a baccalaureate degree with related experience, masters preferred. The candidate MUST have some experience with educating and informing international students about CPT and OPT requirements and managing SEVIS for matriculated international students. Enrollment Counselor

Cottey College is seeking an enrollment counselor. Responsibilities focus on recruitment of prospective students. Candidates must possess excellent written, interpersonal and oral communication skills, event-planning capabilities, and enjoy travel. Bachelor’s degree, computer skills, word-processing, spreadsheet and database software knowledge required. Previous work experience in admissions recommended. Preference given to those who speak fluent Spanish. Head Tennis Coach

Cottey College is seeking a head tennis coach for its inaugural season of competition during the 2017-2018 school year. The 2016-2017 school year will be spent recruiting and organizing the program to begin competition. This job is part time with the possibility of being full time. Full time status would be dependent on the successful candidates experience and would be combined with another job on campus. Assistant Technical Director/Scene Shop Foreperson

Cottey College is seeking an Assistant Technical Director/Scene Shop Foreperson for the Haidee and Allen Wild Center for the Arts. This facility has two performance venues (a 150-seat recital hall, and a 498-seat auditorium) that serve as a space for the theatre, music, and dance departments on campus as well as a wide range of other users, both internal and external to the College. The Assistant Technical Director/Shop Foreman is a half-time, 12 month position and reports to the Technical Director. This position will have responsibilities associated with the smooth operation of all concerts, lectures, performances, and other programs in the Performing Arts Center.
