Registrar

Cottey College, a leading private liberal arts and sciences college for women, seeks a registrar to begin July 1, 2018. Reporting to the VPAA, the successful candidate will provide leadership and vision needed for planning, organizing and directing all functional areas of the Office of Academic Records, including the management and maintenance of student academic records and degree audit services, enrollment support services, and all registration services and related matters. The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, experienced in managing student information systems (preferably Jenzabar), and possess the ability to effectively collect and analyze data. Cottey College, a small liberal arts and sciences college for women, invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track assistant professor in rhetoric and composition, starting August 2018. Teaching load typically includes four courses each semester, including first-year writing courses; each composition class is capped at 15. The successful candidate will have demonstrated excellence in college teaching and a Ph.D. in Rhetoric and Composition (ABD with firm defense date considered). We are looking for individuals who can immediately contribute to our developing Writing Minor, with a demonstrated ability to teach rhetoric, first-year writing, and/or creative writing courses. Residence Hall Director

Cottey College is seeking a female director for an all female student residence hall effective January 2018. 12 month, full-time positions with full benefits. Primary commitment during academic year evenings and weekends. Some daytime hours needed. Position requires excellent interpersonal communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and supervisory capabilities. Experience working with college students or adults desirable. Head Golf Coach

Cottey College is seeking a head golf coach for its inaugural season of competition. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and implementation of a competitive golf program, including budgeting, recruiting, and coaching female student athletes. This job is part time with the possibility of being full time. Full time status would be dependent on the successful candidates experience and would be combined with another job on campus. International Education Coordinator

Position Summary

Cottey College seeks a full-time coordinator for international education. Duties include providing support for study abroad and faculty exchange programs as well as providing support for international students in their transition to Cottey and the U.S. This is a twelve-month position, reporting to the vice president for academic affairs.

Job Requirements and Responsibilities

  • Provides international student support
  • Serves as the principal designated school official (PDSO) for SEVIS and manages SEVIS (must meet PDSO federal requirements)
  • Educates and informs international students about CPT and OPT requirements
  • Oversees international student acquisition of visas
  • Assists international students with resources for their tax returns
  • Participates in New Student Orientation sessions for international students
  • Works with Enrollment Management to coordinate travel arrangements for international students
  • Assists with recruiting international students
  • Presents information to students about expectations in American colleges
  • Manages and coordinates study abroad, student exchange, and faculty exchange programs
  • Assists students to identify appropriate study abroad/exchange programs
  • Connects with study abroad institutional representatives to secure necessary agreements and arrangements
  • Assists Cottey faculty to participate in faculty exchange programs
  • Coordinates the Fall and Spring Study Abroad Showcases
  • Assists with planning of the annual Multicultural Festival
  • Assists in the development of a departmental budget and maintains fiscal responsibility

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred) with 1-2 years related experience
  • Eligible to serve as PDSO for the college
  • Experience with educating and informing international students about CPT and OPT requirements
  • Ability to manage SEVIS and visa requirements for matriculated international students

PM Cook/Alternate

Full-time, nine month cook’s assistant/alternate position available in Cottey’s dining services. Performs a variety of tasks including food preparation and serving. Works with cooks and other kitchen attendants. Hours are 10:30 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. High school graduate. Two years’ experience in food service preferred. Full benefits. Apply at Main Hall, 1000 W.
