The Library's physical environment, resources, staff, and services focus on possibilities for women to develop a wide range of skills as scholars and citizens.

Map of the Ross Library

Location

The Library stands at the corner of Austin and College Streets beside the Rubie Burton Academic Center where many classes are held. Street View

Arrangement

The front desk where books are checked out is near the College Street entrance. On the same floor are the reference section, the Women's Studies Collection, and current periodicals. Most of the books are located on the balcony level, while popular movies, documentary films, music CDs and scores, and back issues of periodicals are on the lower floor. The College Archives are also housed on the lower floor.

Facilities

Computers for student and public use are on all three floors, and staff are available to provide assistance. Numerous individual study desks are found throughout the building along with study tables for group work and nooks with comfortable couches and upholstered chairs. A conference room on the balcony is used for meetings and as a place to study. Next door in the "Fun Room," are the Popular Reading Collection, a drink machine, a coffee pot, and a microwave used for popcorn snacks.
