Dr. Amanda Cook

Assistant Professor of Music

Amanda Cook holds Bachelor of Music degrees in clarinet performance and music education from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. She also received a Master of Music degree in clarinet performance from the University of Michigan. Dr. Cook recently defended her dissertation, Solos in Context: Clarinet Duets for the Studio Teacher, to complete a Doctor of Music degree in clarinet performance at Indiana University. Her teachers include Eli Eban, Fred Ormand, and Jane Carl. Before coming to Cottey, Dr. Cook taught at East Central College and the South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities. She currently teaches woodwind and music theory courses at Cottey College.
