Basketball Signees for 2011-12

 2011-bb-holland

Cottey College is pleased to announce the signing of 5'9" forward Jessica Holland of Everton High School in Everton, Missouri, to play basketball for the Cottey Comets next season.

Holland averaged 20 points and 11 rebounds per game, along with 3.6 assists, 3.9 steals, and 1.1 blocked shots per game. In her career at Everton, she scored over 1500 points and grabbed over 1000 rebounds.

The daughter of Gail and Shawn Holland, she was named First Team All Conference for three years, First Team All District three years, and All-Scoreboard Team two years.

"Jessica had an outstanding high school career and is one who I believe can get much better at the college level," said Comets head coach Dave Ketterman. "She will play the small forward for us and we will look for her to stretch the floor with her ability to shoot.  I think she complements our other signees very well with her ability to score in a variety of ways."

 2011-bb-eldredge

Cottey Comets basketball head coach Dave Ketterman is pleased to announce the signing of Kylie Eldredge, a 5'7" guard from Richland High School in Richland, Missouri.

Eldredge ranks third in Missouri all-time three-point field goals with 267 in three years; she had 97 three-pointers in one season. Eldredge is first in Missouri all-time in three-point field goals per quarter with six. She is second in Missouri for three-point field goals per game with 10. On four different occasions, Eldredge hit nine three-point field goals in a game. She shoots 35 percent from behind the three-point line and 95 percent from the free throw line. Eldredge was All Conference three years in the Frisco League, and has been named to the All-District North Central Team and the All-District All Central Team.

"Kylie is an outstanding shooter and her skills will allow us to stretch the floor and open up the driving lanes," said Ketterman. "Her accomplishments and records speak for themselves and we are fortunate to have her join us this fall.  I believe her best basketball is ahead of her and she will develop into a good collegiate player."

2011-bb-sanders

Cottey Comets basketball head coach Dave Ketterman is pleased to announce the signing of Blaklee Sanders, a 5'9" forward from Atchison High School in Atchison, Kansas.

The daughter of Jerry Sanders and Shelly Sanders, Blaklee played her senior season at Atchison under head coach Roni Ettleman, but played the previous three seasons at Bentonville, Arkansas, under head coach Tom Halbmaier

Averaging 12 points and nine rebounds per game, Sanders was Honorable Mention All State (KS), First Team All-Area, First Team All-Conference, and team captain.

"Blaklee is an athletic power forward who I believe will only get better playing against collegiate competition," said Ketterman. She has a good mid-range game, scores in traffic, is a good rebounder, and an excellent free-throw shooter. We look forward to having her in our program and expect good things from her."
