Good Eats

We'll just come out and say it. Food's important to us. Because we know it's important to you. It's comfort. It's fuel. It's brain power. To us, that means it should taste great - at least as good as home cooking, or better - and be good for you too.

Think we're just saying this? When you ask students or alumnae what are the best things about Cottey, food is almost always in the top five. Go ahead and ask for yourself. Better yet, taste for yourself! When you visit campus, we'll make sure you get a chance to have a bite to eat.

Top Chef & Staff

Michael RichardsonThe biggest reason for all this praise is Chef Michael Richardson and his staff. Richardson used to be a restaurant chef so he knows what it takes to keep diners happy. He also knows that, when you spend almost 24/7 in a place, food is an important part of the experience. That's why Richardson and his staff are always asking students about dining preferences. If you have a favorite recipe you want the chef and staff to prepare, they're totally game to give it a try!

Included in your room and board are 20 meals a week in Raney dining room. This includes Monday breakfast through Sunday brunch. Sunday dinners you're on your own. Don't worry, you won't starve there are lots of options - grab something in town, warm up the hotplate in your suite, join in a "suite feed" (kind of like a potluck), or have a bite in the Chellie Club coffeehouse on campus.

Occasions

Like most great restaurants, the chef and staff are always looking for reasons to make meals special. For example, during the holidays you'll see a lot of your seasonal favorites on the menu, and Sunday brunches are always a time to add a little flair. Where the chef really brings it is during every suite's annual Centennial Dinner. It's an evening to which every suite member looks forward!
