“We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.” – Winston Churchill
Cottey’s goal to affirm the ability of women to excel, combined with The P.E.O. Sisterhood’s strong commitment to women’s education, creates a dynamic environment. This presents everchanging needs which, in turn, provide ways you can make a difference. Please take a moment to explore some of the opportunities available.

There are many ways an individual or chapter can contribute to Cottey, some of which are listed below.
Undesignated gifts are always welcome. These allow the College to apply the money where it is most needed.
The Blanche Skiff Ross Memorial Library is the academic core of the College. It serves not only the students, but the faculty, staff, and community as well. In order to maintain and support a strong academic program, the Library needs gifts to help build its acquisitions.
Named seats are still available in the Auditorium of the Haidee and Allen Wild Center for the Arts. A gift of $1,000 enables a P.E.O. chapter or an individual to name a seat. Each seat has a small brass plaque mounted on the arm allowing for three lines of inscription of 30 letters and spaces per line.
The College continually updates academic program equipment and technology such as computers, instructional aids, and science equipment as well as fitness and recreational apparatus. People interested in funding specific equipment should contact the College.
Endowed funds allow the College to invest the principal and use the interest income to support programs.
Named Endowed Funds
A named endowed fund can be established with a minimum gift of $10,000. There are numerous options available including (but not limited to):
- library acquisition fund;
- equipment fund;
- cultural fund;
- lecture fund;
- scholarship fund.
General Endowed Funds
Cottey also has several general endowed funds which can be added to with gifts.
- General Endowed Scholarship Fund;
- Alumnae Library Acquisition Fund;
- Ross Library Acquisition Fund;
- General Endowed Cultural Fund.
Anniversary Fund (General Endowment)
The College’s commitment to a solid financial investment base through a general endowment continues to be a top priority. The Anniversary Fund provides annual income earnings which support the College’s annual operating budget and allow the College to keep tuition and costs affordable. A gift to the College’s Anniversary Fund will live on in perpetuity and be the most beneficial gift to the College.
Estate and Tax Planning

Cottey College does not render legal or tax advice. Your attorney, accountant or other professional advisor should be consulted for specific assistance.
