Exploring Careers
As you begin your career journey you will need to learn more about specific types of careers, job responsibilities, information on salaries, job outlook, typical work duties, training and education requirements, and skills needed in a particular occupation. There are many resources available that can assist you in finding information about occupations.

The Occupational Outlook Handbook (OOH) is complied by the US Department of Labor. It describes what workers do on the job, working conditions, training and educational needs, earnings, and expected job prospects in a wide variety of occupations.
Occupational Outlook Quarterly provides practical information on jobs and careers. Articles are written in straightforward, non-technical language and cover a wide variety of career and work-related topics such as new and emerging occupations, training opportunities, salary trends, and results of new studies from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
O*NET, the Occupational Information Network, is a comprehensive database of employee attributes and job characteristics. It provides information about knowledge, skills, abilities, interests, general work activities, and work context. O*NET also links to related occupational, educational, and labor market information.
America's Career InfoNet provides national, state and local career information and labor market data using unique career tools, career reports, videos, a career resource library and other innovative web-based tools.
