Rubie Burton Academic Center Floor Plan

On the left is a view of Alumnae Hall. This view is looking south from Austin street toward Grantham Hall. Alumnae Hall's renovation was completed in January 1999. On the right is the west entrance to Nelle Horner Grantham Hall.

Shown below are photos of instructional spaces in the Rubie Burton Academic Center.

The photo on the left is of the spacious organic chemistry laboratory on the second floor of Grantham Hall. All of the chemistry labs, instrumentation rooms and chemical storage areas are self-contained so the chemicals are never taken outside of those instructional spaces. The photo on the right is the new computer lab, a gift of Gene Wild, Class of 1945. The lab is located in Alumnae Hall. Grantham Hall features a smaller science computer laboratory for computer interfaced experimentation. Notice the ergonomically designed tables which allow the students to look at the computer screens, but still have an unencumbered view of the professor and the front of the classroom.

This is the Eloise M. Cost multimedia classroom. A professor can stand at the computerized lectern and operate a VCR, twin slide projectors, overhead projector, a DVD player, or can show computerized instruction through the use of the overhead projector. This classroom, with tiered seating, truly puts technology at the fingertips of the instructor.
