FACULTY

Adjunct Faculty Digital Art I

Cottey College invites applications for an adjunct faculty position in Fall 2009, to teach Art 271: Digital Art I (PC Format--Adobe CS3). Master's or MFA in art or related field(s) preferred. ADMINISTRATIVE

There are two administrative positions open at this time.


Service-Learning Advisor/VISTA Volunteer

Work with faculty, students, and community partners to develop opportunities for students to volunteer in the local community and receive course credit. Candidate must have an Associate degree or higher, be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident. An interest in women's education, computer literacy, and excellent communication skills preferred. Must be available for VISTA training August 24-29, with official starting date August 31, 2009.

This is an AmeriCorps* VISTA position. VISTA volunteers serve full-time, for one year with varying work hours and receive a modest living allowance, health insurance, relocation expenses, student loan forbearance, childcare assistance, and travel reimbursement. Upon completion of service, members choose between an education award or a cash stipend, and receive non-competitive eligibility for federal employment (similar to military preference). Cottey College and AmeriCorps* are equal opportunity organizations.

Half-Time Webmaster

Cottey College is seeking a webmaster. This is a half-time position that will manage all aspects of the Cottey College Web site. Position requires a bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university with major course work in an information technology field, or equivalent combination of education and experience in related field utilizing state-of-the-art technology, and two year's work experience monitoring and analyzing Web logs.

Applicants should demonstrate ease with dynamic Web page generation and data retrieval, show fluency in HTML, Java, JavaScript, Active X, vbscript, asp.net, and multimedia tools like Flash. Familiarity with SQL and database concepts is desirable, along with a knowledge of TCP/IP-based protocols and network architectures. Experience with Photoshop is also desirable.
