COMETS SWEEP CENTRAL BIBLE

After an 0-6 start to the season, the Cottey College Comets got a volleyball victory with a three game sweep over Central Bible College in Springfield, Missouri. The scores were 25-20, 25-22, and 25-20.

The Comets struggled a bit with serving in this match, which allowed CBC to keep the scores closer than they would have otherwise. In fact, serving and missed hits allowed the home team to take a 2-8 lead in game three. A timeout by head coach Marla Kannady Foreman allowed the team to get focused. They were able to take the floor afterwards and complete the win and the sweep.

"I told them that they needed to put all the skills together, so that we could execute properly, and they went back in and did just that," explained Foreman.

Team leaders for the Comets were Chrissy Echeverria with four aces, Kailey Kelly with 26 assists, Taylor Means with 15 digs and six kills, and Andrea Hass with three blocks.

Cottey's record is 1-6 on the year. This coming Saturday, they will travel to Union, Missouri, to participate in the regional/district seeding tournament. The next home game will be Friday, October 2, when the Comets have a rematch with Ozark Christian College at 7 p.m.
