COTTEY FACULTY RECITAL FEB. 13
Theresa Forrester Spencer, Cottey College professor of music (vocal), will present a faculty recital on Saturday, February 13, at 8 p.m. in the Missouri Recital Hall. There is no admission charge for the recital.
Professor Spencer will present an evening of art song titled "Fit for a Queen." Featured on the program will be Purcell's elegy on the death of Queen Mary, 1695, "The Queen's Epicedium;" "Let all the Winged Race with Joy" by Handel from his Ode for the Birthday of Queen Anne and Libby Larsen's song cycle titled "Try Me, Good King," based on the last words of the wives of Henry VIII. Joining Professor Spencer will be her long-time accompanist Richard Williams, professor of music from the Conservatory of Music at the University of Missouri in Kansas City.
The Recital Hall is inside the Haidee and Allen Wild Center for the Arts on the northeast corner of Austin and Tower streets in Nevada, Missouri.
