Professor Jo Byrnes

Professor Jo ByrnesJo Byrnes, B.S., M.F.A., assistant professor of dance

Jo Byrnes has undergraduate degrees in Computer Engineering Technology and Theatre with Dance Emphasis, both from Kansas State University, and an M. F. A degree in Dance and Related Arts from Texas Woman´s University. She has 24 years of teaching experience in private studios, public schools, and at the university level. She was a founding member and artistic director of a.musing.dance.company and the Instant Dance Project. She has choreographed and performed with various companies and independent artists in the Dallas, Texas and Boise, Idaho areas. Jo has been a Teaching Artist for the Idaho Commission on the Arts. At Cottey, she is teaching ballet, modern, jazz, Choreography, and Creative Movement for Children, as well as setting choreography on the Cottey Repertory Dance Company. She also collaborates on some Cottey theater productions.
