Dr. Kathryn Pivak
Assistant Professor of English

Dr. Kathryn Pivak, assistant professor of English, received her Ph. D. (2005) from Duquesne University in Pennsylvania, her M.A. from Kent State University, and her B.A. from Notre Dame College of Ohio.
She teaches courses in composition and British literature. Prior to coming to Cottey, she taught courses in composition, British literature, multicultural literature, and women’s studies. She is the sponsor of Cottey Diversity Corps and a co-sponsor of Phi Theta Kappa.
Her research interests include the Victorian novel, nineteenth-century psychology and issues of identity, mothering in Victorian England, and Victorian women’s travel.
