Dr. Trisha Stubblefield
Dr. Trisha Stubblefield, associate professor of English and Harmon Professor of English, received her B.A. (English) and B.M. (Music History) from Converse College, South Carolina, and her M.A. and Ph.D. (2001) from the University of South Carolina. Her graduate work focused on twentieth-century American literature, and her dissertation examined "The Brat Pack," a group of 1980s novelists of manners that includes Tama Janowitz, Jay McInerney, and Bret Easton Ellis. In addition, Dr. Stubblefield's research interests include women writers (especially Edith Wharton), popular culture, and composition/rhetoric.
Dr. Stubblefield serves as Coordinator of the English Department and Coordinator of the Women's Studies Program. The recipient of several teaching awards, she teaches Composition, American Women Writers, American Literature, and other literature courses, in addition to Introduction to Women's Studies. Dr. Stubblefield is the sponsor of Cottey College's Feminist Majority Foundation Chapter and Amnesty International Chapter, and she is the co-sponsor of Cottey's Sigma Kappa Delta English Honor Society chapter.
