Dr. Deborah Macey
Assistant Professor of Mass Communication
Ms. Macey is in the process of completing her doctoral program at the School of Journalism and Communication of the University of Oregon. She also holds a certificate in Women and Gender Studies from the same university. Her dissertation focuses on ancient mythological archetypes in modern media and involves a comparative textual analysis of Golden Girls, Living Single, and Sex and the City. She also holds an M.A. in Communication and a BSBA in Marketing from St. Louis University. Her previous teaching experience at the University of Oregon includes the following courses: Mass Media and Society; Women, Minorities, and the Media; and Women, Difference, and Power. She has also served as a graduate teaching fellow for Mass Media Ethics, Communication Theory and Criticism, Principles of Public Relations, International Communication, and Women and Gender Studies.
