"Mathematics is not just the language of science any more. In our technology based world the understanding of mathematics is becoming more and more necessary to the understanding of other fields. Mathematics is becoming a basic part of many traditionally non-mathematical fields. Mathematics is now being used to understand and change these fields as it never did before. For students, it opens doors to those fields. To be a active part in this new world, knowledge of mathematics is necessary."
