Dr. Rusalyn Andrews

Dr. Rusalyn AndrewsDr. Rusalyn Andrews, Ph.D Professor of Theatre and Speech, teaches Fundamentals of Speech, Interpersonal Communication, Persuasion, Performance of Literature, Dramatic Literature, History of American Musical Theater, Voice and Articulation, Children's Theatre, Theater production.

Dr. Andrews holds a B.S. in Education from Southwest Missouri State University, an M.S. in Theater from Illinois State University, and a Ph.D. in Communication from Southern Illinois University--Carbondale where she concentrated on the areas of communication theory, performance studies, communication education, and theater. She combines these different areas of interest in her academic and scholarly pursuits, which range from theater of the deaf to specific issues concerning communication education. She is a member of regional and national communication organizations, serving in leadership positions and presenting papers and performances at both levels. Doctor Andrews directs main stage dramatic productions each year at Cottey College, serves as the department's costume designer and curator of Cottey College's collection of vintage clothing.
