Financial Aid: Grants
Federal Pell Grant: need-based grant awarded to students who qualify according to the FAFSA. For
2007-08, the maximum amount was $4,310.
Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG): need-based grant awarded to students with
exceptional financial need according to the FAFSA. For 2007-08, the maximum amount was $500.
Academic Competitiveness Grant: grant awarded to students who have graduated from a rigorous high school
program of study. Must be a U.S. citizen and be eligible for a Pell Grant.
Cottey Grant: need-based grant; eligibility is determined from FAFSA results. The money to fund this
comes from Cottey's endowment and other gifts to the college.
State Grants: Missouri residents who have the FAFSA filed by April 1 and have an Expected Family
Contribution (EFC) of $12,000 or less may qualify for the Access Missouri Financial Assistance Program.
International Cottey Grant: need-based grant awarded to students who are citizens of foreign
countries. Amounts vary based on need. The Application for Financial Aid for International Students and the
Certification of Finances form must be submitted.
