Financial Aid: Scholarships

Academic Scholarships: Awarded at time of acceptance for admission, we will review ACT/SAT score and cumulative high school GPA to determine qualification for an academic scholarship.

President's Scholarship $11,000 total $5,500 per year
Founder's Scholarship $8,000 total $4,000 per year
Achievement Award $6,000 total $3,000 per year

All test scores received through December 31 will be considered in the calculation for academic scholarships.

Fine Art Scholarships: awarded to students who demonstrate a strong academic proficiency in art/art history, dance, music, or theatre/speech. Athletic Scholarships: available for basketball and volleyball; awarded by the coach or athletic director. Amounts range from $500 up to the amount of tuition and books.

Alumnae Scholarships: $500 per academic year to relatives of Cottey alumnae, which could include daughters, granddaughters, sisters, great-granddaughters, or nieces of Cottey alumnae, depending on the amount of funding available.

Girl Scout Leadership Award: $1000 per academic year awarded to Girl Scout Gold Award recipients.

Regional Leadership Achievement Award Program: $3,500 per academic year. Demonstrated leadership and/or community service, 3.0 GPA, and 23 ACT/1060 SAT are required. Deadline to apply is March 1. Available to women in the following counties:
Missouri - Barton, Bates, Cedar, Dade, St. Clair, or Vernon
Kansas - Bourbon

P.E.O. Scholarships: available from local, state, or provincial-level chapters of the P.E.O. Sisterhood. A student does not need a P.E.O. affiliation to qualify. Each chapter establishes the criteria; the application procedures, deadlines, and amounts vary. Apply for Cottey admission early to avoid missing deadlines. International Peace Scholarship: $4,000 awarded by the P.E.O. Sisterhood. Cottey recommends selected international students to the P.E.O. Sisterhood for this scholarship.
