Learning Outcomes

Cottey administerd the Academic Profile in 2005 and 2006. The Academic Profile is a test of general academic knowledge and skills. The test focuses on the academic skills developed through general education courses rather than on the knowledge acquired about the subjects taught in these courses. Academic Profile concentrates on issues, themes, and ideas.

The Cottey mean total score in 2005 was 451.25 and 449.07 in 2006. Comparativie data shows that sophomore students at Associate's degree colleges had a mean total score of 441, and sophomore students at Baccalaureate Liberal Arts institutions had a mean of 439.96. Cottey students also out-paced these students in skills subscores and context-based subscores.





Accreditation
Recognized as a two-year college of liberal arts, Cottey College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools and is an accredited institutional member of the National Association of Schools of Music.
