Greetings from Cottey College! I am so glad that you decided to check us out and see what we have to offer you as you
begin your college search.
I graduated from Cottey in 1962 with an Associate in Science degree. I came to Cottey from Yankton, SD, having been
greatly influenced by my good friend Meredith Auld Brokaw (yes, Tom's wife!). She was a student at Cottey and absolutely
loved it, and encouraged me to check it out. I am so glad that I did, because my Cottey experience really set the path
for my future and changed forever where my life would lead. The same can be said for my daughter, Molly who is a 1988
Cottey graduate. I continued my education at the University of South Dakota, where I received my bachelor's degree in
social work. I lived in Minnesota for many years, and moved to Nevada, Missouri, in 2003 because I loved this community
and have many of my Cottey friends living in the area. I had not intended to work at Cottey, but because of my love for
the school and my long-standing relationship with P.E.O., when the opportunity presented itself, I jumped at the chance.
I am a Past State P.E.O. President from Minnesota, and have been a member of the Sisterhood for almost 45 years.
Cottey offers its student a unique experience which includes the cultural experience of living with students from 40
states and 15 foreign countries, as well as its outstanding suite-style residence halls and small class sizes. We offer
you the opportunity to explore your leadership capabilities, and our faculty is dedicated to your success in and out of
the classroom. I invite you to explore Cottey by visiting us, staying in a suite with our students, and attending our
classes.
