Hall Director
Glenda Jackson Crowder
HI! My name is Glenda Crowder and I am the Hall Director at P.E.O. Hall. This will be my first year as a hall director. I graduated from the University of Missouri, Columbia with a degree in education (biology) and have a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration. I worked as a teacher, principal and school reform specialist in the Kansas City area for years. I have one son who is a senior at the University of Kansas.
I grew up in Nevada and work as the Tourism Coordinator for the Chamber of Commerce. In my spare time I like to read, watch TV, spend time with friends and I love to cook! I am looking forward to meeting you and spending time together.

Betsy Gonia
Hi, I’m Betsy! I live in Franklin, Wisconsin, (the world headquarters of Carmex!) outside of Cottey. In my spare time outside of classes and homework I love to dance, draw, paint, read, play video games, surf the web for amazing art sites, and most importantly, hang out and talk with my friends. I am majoring in illustration, although I don’t know what art school I will be transferring to after Cottey. As of right now, I would like a career as a graphic novelist; however, that is still open to debate. I have a quirky sense of humor and love laughing to the point of my body becoming sore. My first year at Cottey was an awesome learning experience, and I can’t wait to learn even more this coming year. I hope you have a wonderful rest of your summer, and I’m excited to meet you in the fall!

Rebeca Cruz
Hey! I’m Rebeca Cruz but many people know me as “Beka” or “bk”. I’m from Hidalgo, Mexico, and I will be living in Illinois Suite on the second floor of P.E.O. Hall this year. I’m majoring in pre-medicine and my intended goal in life is to go on medical missions. I love people, chemistry, math, hospitals, and also “House”, the TV program. I’m also very interested in social justice, human rights and being aware of what is happening around the world. I enjoy walking, singing, listening to music, playing the guitar, bongos, and some piano.
Last year I was very excited about coming to Cottey, but I was also worried about getting along with new people and making friends. I understand it is hard to leave home, but I will share what someone told me “Be ready to experience new things, smile even when it’s hard, be open-minded, and let life challenge you to your fullest extent. This is just the beginning of a long journey. Follow it, enjoy it, and learn to live with it.” These words have worked for me, and hopefully, they will work for you too.

Suite Chairs
Your suite chair is a member of your suite, usually a second-year student, who has been elected by your suite to volunteer to coordinate activities and serve as a communication link between the campus community and the suite. She conducts suite meetings, shares information with the suite, and works with suitemates to delegate and coordinates suite responsibilities.
Suite chairs will be elected at the start of the 2008-2009 academic year.
