The Comets completed the fall preseason with a 1-7 record.

The Comets are 0-2 in the spring season as of March 5.

The February 26 game against Independence CC has been cancelled due to weather.

Comets Softball

In their first season, the Cottey College Comets softball team has shown that they came to not only play, but compete as well. With a new team of all freshmen, no one knew what to expect from this group who had never played together before. What they showed in the fall was a tough, scrappy team ready to do what it takes to get the win.

In a limited fall season schedule, the Comets went 6-2 against area opponents, surprising some teams along the way with their level of play and determination. Cottey continued to play well against tough opponents in the spring as they completed a regular season of 14-16. This year, the Comets will bring back some experienced players from last season along with a good recruiting class of freshmen.

The Comets play their home games at Bushwhacker Field at Lyons Stadium. The stadium is located on West Highland Street, just west of the intersection of Ash and Highland (near the Osage Prairie YMCA). Bushwhacker Field is south of the main stadium. To park by Bushwhacker Field, drive west past the stadium and turn south into Newton Cemetery. After approximately 100 yards, you will find a drive turning east which leads to Bushwhacker Field and the parking area. The schedule is printed below.
