Elisa Ledesky ’09

On a day when she was simultaneously fasting to raise awareness about global poverty and observing a day of silence to protest discrimination, Elisa LeDesky paused momentarily to reflect on Cottey—a place, she said, “where young women search for and find their purpose in life.” Elisa, a student leader, resident assistant, cross-country runner, and member of the campus ministry, said her defining moment was the day she spoke to 1,000 women at a P.E.O. convention.

“I realized I have something to say that people want to hear.
I found my voice.”
