Cottey has great transfer and career planning counselors who will help you shape your transfer strategy. Together you'll discuss your interests, academic goals, what courses you should be taking at Cottey, possible transfer schools, and the transfer process at the colleges or universities you're considering.

Getting a handle on what careers interest you or, better yet, what careers fit your interests, skills, values, and personality is an excellent way to figure out what majors you may want to explore. We've got a lot of fun tools and helpful resources that will help you get to the heart of your inner talents.

Research transfer colleges

The more you know about what school you want to attend, the smoother your transfer experience. In particular, keep the following in mind:

How many credits can you transfer? Most colleges and universities accept between 62-70 credits.

What are the school's general education requirements?

What pre-requisites are there for your intended major?

Does the school have any other graduation requirements?

Where do you get started with all this research? Our counselors are a good place to start. We also have hundreds of college guides like Peterson's, The College Handbook, and others, information provided by the school, scholarship resources, and there's always the Web. We also subscribe to CollegeSource, a college information resource that has over 23,000 college catalogs and offers a free college search.

Meet with college admission representatives

Throughout the academic year college admission representatives schedule visits to Cottey to recruit students. Our annual Women's College Fair hosts representatives from women's schools across the country and is a great opportunity to find out more about what these colleges offer.
