Administrative Computing Support Specialist

Cottey College is looking for and administrative computing support specialist. This position will train and assist end-users with Microsoft Office and basic computer issues involving college/department databases. Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve computer and software problems. Assist with non-classroom presentation setup and training. Assist the assistant director with the installation, maintenance, and repair of computers, printers, wireless network devices, copper and fiber optic network cable, operating system software, application software, and system utility software on college computers and network infrastructure components. Bachelor degree and 2 years computer services or maintenance experience preferred. Full time, 12-month position. Excellent benefits. Chef/Director of Dining Services

Cottey College invites applications for a chef/director of dining services. Candidates must have accomplished management and culinary skills. Duties include: hands-on management of 15 full-time and 38 part-time staff, purchasing and monitoring inventory control, and maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment.

Minimum requirements: degree/certificate from a culinary school or a bachelor’s degree with major course work in hotel or culinary management and three years’ related experience.

College Math Tutor

Cottey College, a leading private liberal arts and sciences college for women in Nevada, Missouri, invites applications for a part-time professional math tutor to serve two evenings a week in Cottey’s on-campus Learning Center. Duties include one-on-one and small group tutoring in mathematical subjects at a college level for both Fall 2018 and Spring 2019 semesters, averaging five to eight evening hours per week while classes are in session. Candidates must be well versed in College Algebra and Calc I, with Calc II, III, and Stats a plus. Preference will be given to those who hold bachelor’s degrees or above in mathematics or a related field. Vice President for Academic Affairs/Dean of the Faculty 

Cottey College an independent, liberal arts and sciences women’s college located in Nevada, Missouri, is accepting applications for the position of Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the Faculty (VPAA/DoF).

Reporting to the President, Dr. Jann Weitzel, and a member of the President’s Council, the VPAA/DoF serves as the chief academic officer of the College and is responsible for the strategic leadership of all academic matters of the College.

Within a shared governance context, the VPAA/DoF supports an academic culture that is collaborative, innovative and creative and

  • advocates for faculty and staff, including recruitment, retention, and development;
  • provides leadership for the overall planning, development, implementation, evaluation, and fiscal management of the academic programs;
  • facilitates academic excellence in all academic areas, including curriculum, teaching, and learning;
  • is responsible for the academic planning, assessment, strategic planning, and accreditation across the campus;
  • provides leadership to the academic administrative and support services.

Requirements:

  • An earned doctorate in a liberal arts and sciences discipline appropriate to the College.
  • Experience and demonstrated excellence in teaching in a two-year or four-year institution.
  • Significant academic administrative experience, increasing in complexity over a period of years.
  • Experience with
    • current curricular issues in higher education and with academic program review and development;
    • pedagogical and scholarly issues relevant to the general-education curriculum and issues related to women’s education;
    • academic budgets and financial management.
